María La Gorda

Diving is María la Gorda’s raison d’être. Located on one of the island’s remote western tips, María la Gorda has over 50 dazzling dive sites. It’s not just the sheltered coastline that makes it a great place to dive – it boasts plenty of diving schools and centers too. Good visibility and protected offshore reefs – home to incredible migratory fish – are another plus. Add the largest formation of black coral in the archipelago and you have arguably the best diving reefs in Cuba outside the Isla de la Juventud. Enjoy a variety of dives including cave dives or night dives. If you’re a beginner, you can take the scuba certification course. And if you don’t dive, you can always hop on and off the boat as a snorkeler.
