La Bodeguita del Medio
One of the classic ways to drink Havana Club 3 años in Cuba is in a mojito, and you can’t miss with a mojito at La Bodeguita del Medio. This is by far Havana’s most celebrated bar. A 1940s grocery store turned restaurant, the walls are covered with the signatures of distinguished customers like Pablo Neruda, Nat King Cole, Fidel Castro, Agustín Lara, Brigitte Bardot, Ignacio ‘Bola de Nieve’ Villa, Salvador Allende and, of course, Ernest Hemingway. While we’re pretty sure that Hemingway didn’t pay 4 CUCS for his favourite mojito, the history, atmosphere and live bands make this place a must see. This bar located right off of Cathedral Square is also a good spot to hear the traditional sound of son cubano.
