Last week, London played host to the European finals of Havana Club Cocktail Maestros, gathering the finest mixologists of the continent. Bartenders, working in pairs, were tasked with crafting their signature cocktails within a two-hour timeframe and adhering to a strict budget for ingredients—a nod to the resourceful Cuban spirit: Cuban Mode On!
Each pair had five minutes to present their creation to the judges, followed by a three-minute Q&A session. The atmosphere was electric as participants demonstrated their creativity and expertise, leaving our three judges Maria (The School Of Flavour), Liam (Global Brand Ambassador) and Duncan (Portfolio Ambassador) with tough decisions to make.
In the end, five teams emerged victorious, their innovative cocktails and proper Cuban Mode shining through to earn them a spot in the global final. These talented bartenders will now represent Europe in the ultimate showdown, set to take place in the heart of Havana, Cuba.
The event was not only a competition but also a celebration of the camaraderie and passion within the mixology community. As we look forward to the global final, we raise our glasses to the winners and to the enduring spirit of Havana Club! Cheers to an unforgettable journey ahead!
