Havana Club Sessions VOL.1
Winter is coming, but thanks to these four Belgian artists, you won’t feel cold at all! In June 2019, Krisy, Darrell Cole, K1D and Saskia travelled to Cuba with Havana Club, the authentic Cuban rum brand, heading into the studio with Cuban artists Daymé Arocena and Kumar to record a brand-new EP, titled “Havana Club Sessions Vol. 1”. The album and video were released on 25 October, followed by an official release party with a live show on 8 November 2019 at Bloody Louis in Brussels.
Krisy, Darrell Cole, K1D and Saskia are always on the lookout for new inspiration, and recently found it in Cuba’s music and culture. Each of the six tracks on this EP, which is called “Havana Club Sessions Vol. 1”, is a celebration of Havana’s sultry and steamy rhythm.
“The whole setting was my biggest inspiration. You really feel as if you’ve set foot in a different world here.” - KRISY
The four young Belgians headed into the studio with two famous Cuban artists, the rapper Kumar and the singer Daymé Arocena, who mixes jazz, soul and classical influences. The outcome: an exclusive EP on which each track bridges the gap between hip-hop and some caliente, Cuban-inspired tunes.
The EP “Havana Club Sessions Vol. 1”, distributed by the Back in the Dayz label, will be released on 25 October 2019 on all streaming services.

Music is a way of life in Cuba. For several years, Havana Club has been sharing its love of music through various musical projects, including a collab with Daymé Arocena and Gilles Peterson.
Havana Club wants to continue to share its values, partnering up with a new generation of talented Belgian musicians, who are influenced by sounds that are close to hip-hop and rap.
Is there an EP Vol.2 in the making? Wait and see…
Krisy, aka De La Fuentes when he’s producing and mixing, made his breakthrough as an engineer on Damso’s first album. This creative and tireless jack-of-all-trades, who is also a rapper, founded the LeJeune Club, a collective of young talented creatives who all share a love of music, photography, fashion and design. His eagerly anticipated album ‘Euphoria’ will be out soon.
Antwerp rapper Darrell Cole, who was born in London, has already made a name for himself with his own style and flow, which combines the sound of the Golden Era with the new trap elements of modern day hip-hop. He released his first album in 2013 and since then has become a fixture on Belgium’s hip-hop scene.
K1D, a Belgian rapper with Senegalese roots, was spotted in 2018 as an emerging young talent. His first EP “The Chronicles” was very well received, followed by “High Hopes” containing 7 brand new tracks and a record deal with Sony Music Belgium. The stars are aligned for him to leave a mark on Belgian hip-hop.
Saskia, the best-kept secret of this line-up, is an artist to follow. This young Brussels singer was discovered by Simon Le Saint & Krisy and is part of the LeJeune Club. Her single “Pause”, released in 2018, revealed her natural talent to blend urban-pop and trap grooves. The release of her first album is expected very soon.
