Did you know?
The Ron Collins cocktail is a variation of the classic Tom Collins, originally prepared in the early 19th century with gin, lemon juice, sugar and soda water. In the 1930s, bartenders began substituting gin with light rum, giving rise to the ron collins. Its name comes from the Spanish word “ron,” meaning rum. The drink quickly gained popularity in Cuba, where it became known as the “Cuban Tom Collins.” Often served over ice and garnished with lemon or mint, the ron collins cocktail spread throughout the Caribbean and Latin America as a favourite summer refreshment. Today, it remains a staple in cocktail culture worldwide, admired for its simplicity, freshness and easy preparation.
