Centro Habana in the streets

15 Mar. 2018

It’s more a game than a sport, but it’s quintessentially Cuban. It’s dominoes, and wherever you go you’ll find Cubans of all ages hunched over makeshift tables, intent on their next move. It’s a spectator sport here too – groups of people stand around watching the game unfolding before them. You’ll notice that Cuban domino tiles have up to 9 spots, not just 6. Morning, noon and night – Cubans love playing dominos so much that we think it should be one of Cuba’s national sports.
