Seminal rum brand Havana Club and streetwear force Daily Paper have collaborated to launch a limited edition streetwear collection and exclusive competition for young creatives. The distinct collection pays homage to the Cuban heritage of Havana Club, infused with the distinctive aesthetic of Daily Paper. The collection will be launched on 26th January 2019 at an exclusive event in Belgium.
United by rich heritage and a deep rooting in street culture, iconic rum makers Havana Club and the influential Daily Paper have come together to celebrate that which forms the very pillar of both brands: authenticity, tradition, and eclecticism. Commencing the collaboration with a one-off collection incorporating the many facets of both brands, the result is an exclusive 8-piece apparel line. Drawing inspiration from the rich Cuban roots of Havana Club and the creative aesthetic of Daily Paper, the collection features shades of black and gold — inspired by a ubiquitous gold chain. The twist? This exclusive collection kicks off a search for 3 young, talented individuals who will be flown to Havana and mentored during a week-long creative workshop to produce the final pieces of the collection and feature in the campaign’s hero film.

Marrying both heritage and the spirit of collaboration comes this unique collection which pays tribute to the Cuban heritage of Havana Club, entwined with the Daily Paper’s modern aesthetic. The result — a black and gold themed capsule collection, consisting of a T-shirt, a Cuban shirt, a hoodie, a coach jacket, a belt, a scarf, and a gold-plated flask and a special edition, one-of-a-kind Havana Club 7 Años bottle.
A limited run of 250 pieces of each item from the collection will be produced and will be available to buy from 26th January 2019 via the Daily Paper web shop and Amsterdam store, and via selected local streetwear resellers throughout Belgium, UK, Germany, & Spain.
At the very heart of the collaboration is a collective desire to support, nurture and recognize young and emerging creatives. Inspired by a distinctive gold chain, the Cuban Links Academy allows both brands to mentor and support the next creative generation.
Three winners will be flown to Havana and mentored by industry leaders during a week-long creative workshop. Guided in their creative work, they will produce new apparel pieces to finalize the Havana Club x Daily Paper collection. Mentored by creatives from the Daily Paper and Havana Club team, each of the three winners will be chosen based on their creative discipline: design, photography, and music. During the 7-day workshop the team will conceptualize, design and produce the entire media campaign — merging creative and production under one roof.
