    A Cuban classic with an informal twist.

    Havana Club Añejo 7 años is a super premium rum and it needs no fuzz to make you great drinks. Our drinks never hide the many layers of taste in Havana Club Añejo 7 años but they are still easy to drink and to make.

    Ingredients

    • 50ml Havana Club Añejo 7 años
    • 2 dashes Orange Bitters The Bitter Truth®
    • 15ml apricot brandy
    • Large ice cubes

    COMMENTS : The Bitter Truth® Jerry Thomas bitters can be replaced with Angostura®

    Method

    Build in the glass, Fill the glass with ice

    Add the bitters, apricot brandy and Havana Club Añejo 7 años

    Stir well and Twist and squeeze the orange peel and drop into glass

    Add a cherry.

    Another great cocktail from Havana´s golden cocktail age “Cocktail Nacional” was created at the infamous Hotel Nacional de Cuba where celebrities and cocktails from its bars and terraces made it the place to be.When the Hotel Nacional de Cuba opened its doors on 30 December 1930, the British bartender Fred Kaufman, already famed for creating the famous Mary Pickford at the legendary Sevilla-Biltmore hotel, was the head barman. The “Cocktail Nacional” created by Kaufman introduced a very interesting blend of Cuban flavors, rum and apricot liqueur that is now less known.The 7 Naranja is inspired by the elegance of Cocktail Nacional and the National Hotel history but recreated as an informal cocktail using Havana 7 in this aromatic recipe with the addition of orange bitters to create a nicely balanced cocktail that still clearly leaves room for Havana Club añejo 7 años to disclose its depth of flavors.
